Position Summary:

The Bridge Group (TBG) is a boutique marketing firm specializing in events, conferences, and trade shows for the federal government and commercial firms. TBG provides logistical planning services along with marketing, sales, and community development for our clients.  Consistently ranked as one of the top 25 event planning firms in Washington, DC, TBG produces events, conferences, and trade shows for audiences from 5 to 50,000 for clients that span the globe.

We're on the hunt for an organized, self-motivated, and anticipatory individual with natural curiosity. The right candidate must possess the ability to both follow directions meticulously and provide self direction.  This position is a remote work opportunity.

Objectives: 

  • Develop attendee, exhibitor and media partner marketing plans for multiple clients across various industries in conference and trade show portfolio to sell products and services including: Exhibitor Sales, Attendee Participation, Sponsorship opportunities, Media Programs and Partnerships
  • Execute marketing plans and strategy
  • Analyze results of marketing efforts

Responsibilities:

1. Develop Marketing Plans

  • Develop extensive marketing plans while adhering to budgets, including the use of direct mail, email, advertising (print and digital), websites and public relations/media
  • Present marketing plans to Marketing Director, Event Director, and partners where applicable
  • Develop, promote and manage special projects (promotional, delegate matchmaking, etc.)
  • Work closely with event director, sales staff and clients to understand goals of the customer in order to drive targeted attendee development, sponsorships and exhibit sales.

2. Execute Plans and Strategy

  • Schedule and execute efficient communication programs on behalf of the clients/events
  • Coordinate development of marketing collateral and ancillary products in brand standardincluding but not limited to: brochures, prospectus, web and print advertisements, newsletters, email campaigns, show directories, mobile apps, press releases and other promotional pieces, including copywriting and working with graphic design team, operations team, partners and vendors.
  • Implement marketing plans through extensive vendor contact and management (printers, fulfillment house, registration teams, consultants, etc.)
  • Work with website vendor to develop show website, including copywriting, developing site map, and overseeing all department-specific pages (operations, conference management, sales, etc.)
  • Lead web design & development using CMS such as WordPress (occasionally/as needed)
  • Research industry media partner prospects, negotiate trade agreements, execute deliverables, traffic materials
  • Conduct market research activities such as surveys, intercept interviews, etc.

3. Analyze Results:

  • Reconcile all marketing spending post-show with finance department
  • Clean and analyze demographic data provided by registration vendor
  • Interpret analysis and perform industry research to improve future marketing efforts
  • Contribute marketing summary perspective to post-event follow up with clients

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Marketing and/or Communications
  • Expertise in B2B direct marketing experience to include: direct mail, e-mail and web-based campaigns
  • 5+ years trade show, conference or event marketing; B2B event marketing a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement marketing programs based on data management that drive results; ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives.
  • Solid, proven background and track record of accomplishment and related experience to lead the establishment of business growth, through expanding existing customers and developing new ones with creative and effective marketing programs.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed for onsite production and execution of events

Position Summary:

Kretek International is America’s #1 importer, marketer, and distributor of specialty tobacco, vapor and lifestyle accessories and distributes its products to over 60,000 convenience chain, drug, gas, liquor and independent stores in the U.S. and Canada. Tobacco Media Group (TMG) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kretek that owns and operates Tobacco Business magazine and an industry trade show; Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE) in Las Vegas. The Sales Account Executive, based in Moorpark, CA will be responsible for developing and selling advertising/sponsorships to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for an ambitious individual with the ability to identify and close business across our diverse event and media properties. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, a team player and is hungry to prove their potential.

  • Collaborate with Managing Director and Marketing Operations Manager (and other stakeholders) to conceive and develop advertising and sponsorship packages for presenting to prospective exhibitors/advertisers across all company properties
  • Responsible for negotiating and selling exhibit space, sponsorships, print advertising and digital products across all company properties within a designated territory and/or segment
  • Maintain and grow established business and develop new business and existing account opportunities through prospecting and high cold calling daily volumes
  • Conduct sales campaigns as assigned by the Marketing Operations Manager
  • Develop and cultivate long lasting client relationships with various business levels (business owners, marketing directors, brand managers, etc.)
  • Meet individual and team sales quotas and sales activity requirements as assigned by the Managing Director and/or Marketing Operations Manager
  • Works closely with internal colleagues and stakeholders to identify and create opportunities for cross- company collaboration in events and across media.
  • Maintain integrity of floor plans and adhere to Floor Plan Guides and Standards
  • Identify product categories / market segments to grow sales through greater market insight and enhances our marketing tactics to ensure we exceed budgeted revenue targets.
  • Update the team on regularly scheduled conference calls to report sales progress, review strategic roadmap and generate new ideas, tactics and strategies to grow sales.
  • Provide database entry and maintenance—code, update history and relevant fields in the contact management system
  • Assist accounting with collections, as needed

Magazine Sales

  • Manage the full sales-cycle including; prospecting, fact-finding, presenting, negotiating and closing key agency and brand accounts
  • Manage and generate revenue from developmental sales list
  • React to inbound customer requests via phone and online
  • Use phone and email to develop relationships for long-term growth

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years tradeshow and/or trade advertising sales experience with demonstrated results; experience in the e-media/digital space a strong plus
  • Ambitious, consultative sales background and experience with a professional demeanor
  • Customer service and phone sales experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to simultaneously run multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM (Zoho.com, etc.) and database experience
  • Ability to travel (10%-15%) throughout the year
